Teething Beauty

Annalise cut her first teeth today, one day shy of 7 months old. The two bottom front teeth are just peeking through…and razor sharp!

She’s miserable and the poor little thing is a wreck about the whole situation. Teething tablets seem to bring the best relief, usually lasting only a few minutes before the next crying jag begins. Orajel just ticks her off because she can’t feel it when she gets her thumb in there!

Caught Ya!

In recent days I’ve caught Annalise up on ALL FOURS. She’s log rolling all over the place, but I’m really not ready for her to start crawling around just yet.

Three-Year Checkup

Tommy’s three-year-old checkup went very well. Dr. Blank estimates he’ll make it to 5’11″ in his lifetime, as he’s grown to 3’2″ so far and tips the scales at a whopping 34lbs. They also took his little blood pressure, which was 72/44. He didn’t care for the cuff at first, but thought it was kind of neat when the needle bounced around and the bulb hissed.

Pre-exam. He insisted the doctor inspect his cars, too.

Funniest face ever. Must’ve been right after we told him he was getting his Hep A booster.

Annalise’s First Swim

She wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny…

Girlfriend loves the bathtub, but the spa was a bit much for her nerves.

After some frantic thumbsucking, and once the spa temperature got into the 90s, she really warmed up to the idea of swimming. After ten minutes she was kicking her legs and giggling like crazy while Tommy splashed in her general direction.

Tommy Turns 3!!!

Our little guy, Tommy, hit the big #3 last week. Time has certainly flown by faster than we ever dreamed it would. Here he celebrates with his buddy, Marshall, who turned 3 the day after Tommy.

Blowing out the candles.

Right before we let him dismantle his gifts. We have a seriously spoiled little boy!

With the Birthday Monkey. Appropriate considering he is OBSESSED with Curious George for the moment.

Tommy’s First Bicycle

Tommy got a bicycle from Mommy & Daddy for his 3rd birthday, which was May 17 for those keeping track. Here he takes it out for a spin.

Show off! No hands…

First crash. You may notice his knees are not new to the sidewalk, though.

Smiley Girl

Annalise had fun smiling with family this Saturday at Nana Mary’s birthday party. We didn’t get a shot with the birthday girl, but here she is with Daddy…

Aunt Lisa (the benefactor of her adorable outfit and hair bow)…

and Cousin Cody…

Day at the Park

Friday we spent a lovely morning at the park with our neighbors, Ryley and Miranda, and their mommy, April. Here Tommy plays in the sand with Miranda. He’d found a stick on the playground which he branded a “flag” and waved all over the place. Glad all the kids left with all pairs of eyes intact.

Annalise took her usual morning nap in the shade. Resplendent in buttercup and tangerine.

She sure looks ready for the sun, but we kept her all smiles in the shade. Even wearing SPF 50 I’m nervous to let the rays touch her delicate skin.

Here the gang poses for a group shot at the top of the Red Springs hiking trail, where we went for an impromptu Burger King picnic after the park. It’s a half-mile loop, which guarantees a good nap from every toddler who ascends!

Busy Girl

Annalise has had a busy week! She’s started doing log rolls across the family room floor pretty consistently. She hasn’t quite realized it’s a mode of transportation, but she is fascinated with repeating the motion in every direction.

We moved her into her big girl carseat this week, too. Her legs were dangling off the end of her infant seat and lugging an 18 pound baby around in a 10+ pound carrier wasn’t doing my back any favors. She went from being the big fish in a small pond, so to speak, to swimming in her bro’s old seat. Looks pretty cozy, huh?

Mealtime is becoming more interesting to her, too. This morning she tried avocado and enjoyed both the taste and tactile experience. She mashed it all over the place!
