Sledding Fun

Tommy, Marshall & Roman took us up to Mt. Charleston for some sledding fun December 30. It wasn’t too cold, the boys had a great time and overall it was a lot of fun. Here are some photo highlights.

Winter Program

Tommy’s school put on the cutest Winter Program before the holidays. They sung a half dozen songs and were just the cutest, sweetest group of children I’ve ever seen. Three cheers to the teachers for corraling several dozen 3-year-olds for the event.

Christmas 2008

What an amazing holiday…and how quickly it went by! Tommy really “got it” this year, and Annalise enjoyed joining him in all his revelry. Once again, I’m feeling very lazy, so my update will be mostly pictures. Hey family members, if you have more pictures from the holiday please send them my way…I was too busy in the kitchen to snap very many photos. I know there are more out there! Enjoy…and have a blessed 2009!

Picture Purge!

Between weather, sick kids and plain ol’ laziness I have not left my house in five days. Some find creativity in their cabin fever…not me. My brain is shutting down! So, instead of attempting clever anecdotes, I’ll just leave you with the following gallery of pics to enjoy. More exciting Wedewer updates when the snow melts, the appetites return and I put on something besides yoga pants.

You come here for the pictures, not the prose…

Mama-seesaw

Tommy’s new favorite movie is “Alvin and The Chipmunks.” Thank goodness I have a high tolerance for Chipmunk music…he’s asked to watch it nearly every day since mid-November.

This is the scene that makes him giggle like crazy: Chipmunks sing Funky Town. And he LOVES to say the phrase “mama-seesaw,” which mimicks Alvin’s G-rated homage to Die Hard…”yippee-ki-yay…mamacita!”

And how lucky are we? A second chipmunks movie has just been announced this week: “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel“.

OMG. You know you’ve been stuck inside the house too long when you write a post about the Chipmunks. Please forgive me, readers.

Videos!

It’s been way too long since I’ve shared videos of the kids, so here are several for you to enjoy. Most recent first, I think the final clip was taken back in September?

Making Music

Last weekend James brought home a surprise for the kids…a $5 yard sale toy keyboard. After I doused it with disinfectant I let them loose with it, eventually finding their favorite studio/stage in the kitchen. Dude, you might want to cover your ears:

And a few still shots of our little musicians. They do their best jammin’ in their jammies:

My Gym

Annalise & I attend a weekly class at My Gym, a kids’ play group centered around fitness. They play, play, play and get to try lots of fun tricks on equipment, too. An added plus: I get a good workout chasing her around the room during the hour-long class!

It’s been a very special experience for us because this is the first time we’ve really done something Annalise-centric. The gym is only two doors down from James’ office, so he gets to pop in and join the fun every now and then, too.

Aunt Lisa & Lisey

Annalise got some play and cuddle time with Aunt Lisa a couple weeks back. They sure have fun together!

Tommy’s been getting a little confused about Aunt Lisa’s name lately. He called her Aunt Lisey, then quickly and apologetically corrected himself…no biggie, buddy! Lisa shared that her brother, Jim, used to call her Lisey when they were kids. Tommy got confused because we call Annalise by a million different nicknames while we figure out what suits her best. Mostly she’s Lisey. Or Lisey-Lou. Tommy’s called her Lisey-Lou Magoo a few times…cute! My fave by far is Lulu. Or just Lou. Hey, James may have said he didn’t want me to call her Annie…he didn’t say anything about coming up with something else! I find it funny that we have so many derivatives of Lou in there, though…considering I’m the one whose middle name is Louise and no one’s called me anything Lou-related once in my life! We’ll see what sticks…any suggestions?

Santa’s Arrival

All the way back on November 14 we attended Santa’s Arrival at Town Square Las Vegas. We felt pretty silly looking for Santa before our bellies were full of turkey from Thanksgiving, but at least it wasn’t pre-Halloween! We arrived just as the tree was lit and the fake snow started coming down…cheesy, but oddly magical at the same time. Here’s a shot of the fam in front of the center’s tree after it was lit for the season. Almost Christmas card worthy!

Alas, the crowd was large and the line to chat with the jolly old elf was loooooong. We snuck around the back of the Norman Rockwell house where he holds court and Tommy got a glimpse through a rear window. Our son really wanted to tell Santa all about the various airplanes, movies, etc. he must have by December 25, but I queried, “Did you bring your list?” He tilted his head, and thought for a moment before answering, “No…” And he was completely fine with leaving after that. The next day we worked on his list, and he’s still not *ready* to see Santa because he keeps adding more to it each day! The latest addition is a flashlight.

I hope to add the kids’ Santa photo by next week. Just trying to figure out the best day to brave the crowds again.
