The Dragon's Inn is a world of fantasy and a haven for the imagination. Within a virtual community are elves and dragons, brave heros and heroines, where the brightest good and darkest evil meet. Here are combined the best features of fantasy roleplay gaming and interactive writing in a medieval setting.

So come to the Inn, meet Hugh the bartender and ask Sera the barmaid to bring you food and drink, drag your chair closer to a warming fire, and share a tale.

Be prepared to meet friendly dragons, helpful vampires, and saintly knights; and also aspiring dark lords of every description!

This is the introduction you would see when visiting www.dragons-inn.org, this newsgroup's corresponding website. The website alone is a vast source of information for a very comlicated newsgroup.

alt.dragons-inn is an interactive, ongoing tail of fantasy. The participants are writers with great imaginations, sometimes compiling a dialogue through e-mail or chat before posting to the newsgroup. Each participant takes on some character, describing that character and all of its actions and relating it to other characters. For example, although I have not participated in the group yet, all I would have to do is find a story thread that interests me, come up with a detailed description of my character, and put my character into the story however I like. Of course, I need to know about the other character with which I am supposed to interact before writing about my presence in their midst.

Here are two examples of the storylines I found on this site.
