The Turing Test was designed by Alan Turing as a method to determine if a computer entity truly qualifies as an artificial intelligence. A panel of judges would chat with a computer about a topic chosen by the computer. The computer could be a piece of software, or it could actually be a human typing the responses. To pass the test and qualify as a true artificial intelligence, the software must convince the judge it is human for a minimum of five minutes.

No software has succeeded yet.
